Each morning you'll be guided through an hour long yoga session awakening your body, your energy and your mind. You'll be supported along the way by like-minded yogis who you'll practice alongside and may even be inspired to start a daily yoga routine of your own.

Some experience of yoga, especially flow, is advisable.

Self-Care Sunday

A day retreat of nurturing yoga, meditation and breath work fuelled by nourishing food, lovingly prepared by AFNutrition.

Treat yourself to a day of self-care where we'll be exploring yoga practices that relax and revitalise body and mind. Mindfulness meditation and breathing techniques along with dynamic flow, yin and restorative yoga will provide you with the much needed 'me time' to develop inner calm and peace. The ultimate antidote to the stress of everyday life.

Throughout the day you'll be fed and watered with seasonally prepared, nutritious food tailored to support the day’s activities and to balance and nourish the body. The day will include a delicious breakfast followed by a hearty lunch plus an indulgent treat or two along, with plenty of herbal teas.

Do not hesitate to get in touch regarding any dietary requirements. Please note the equipment and premises are not suitable for nut allergies

Yin + Kirtan

Yin is one of the most delicious forms of yoga you can experience. It is a passive, non-ambitious practice, with long-held floor poses and a deep attention to mindfulness and mindful breathing. It targets connective tissue and joints rather than muscles, gently encouraging a quiet internalised approach. We emerge from a yin practice feeling centred, balanced, whole and relaxed.

Chloe McKay is one of our most loved teachers at The Stables, skilled in yin, mindfulness, yoga therapy and more dynamic styles too.

Chanting is the use of sound to affect consciousness. Happiness or sorrow, joy or regret are vibratory frequencies in the mind. When we chant a mantra we are choosing to invoke the positive power contained in short repetitive phrases. It's blissful and very easy!

Nam Prakash will guide you through an hour of chanting mantras from several traditions - Sanskrit, Gurmukhi (from the tradition of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan) and even some English ones.
Nam Prakash Kaur has been teaching Kundalini Yoga in York since 2009 and assists on the Level 1 teacher training (where there's a lot of chanting!). She chants every day, and is looking forwards immensely to sharing this peaceful, uplifting experience with you all.
