What is Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach to healthcare that considers the biological, psychological and social contributors to wellness.

Fusing the ancient tradition of yoga with modern medical understanding, the latest developments in neuroscience and psychotherapeutic principles, yoga therapy can be used to support a wide range of mental and physical health conditions. With its broad approach, yoga therapy is very much tailored to an individual’s needs so sessions will vary depending on what is required. Practices may include but are not limited to, physical postures, meditation, breath work, relaxation techniques, mindfulness and self-inquiry.

Yoga therapy can offer support in challenging times and can be used alongside conventional treatment in a whole host of conditions, encouraging balance in body and mind. As a yoga therapist my training covers a variety of physical and psychological issues.

The Process

The process starts with a free 15-minute phone call to assess your needs and suitability and for you to ask any questions you might have.

If you would like to proceed, you next complete an intake form and we book an initial session.

The initial session is 90 minutes and here we discuss your form, your aims and plan a trajectory for our work together, we’ll also explore some practices this session.

Further sessions can then be taken individually, or block booked in sets of three or six. Frequency of sessions depends on what is being worked on, usually weekly is recommend to begin to build momentum, however this could be fortnightly or monthly depending on your requirements.

Length of treatment will also depend on the nature of the work and/or your personal preference or circumstances.

I run a number of yoga therapy courses throughout the year. Please see the courses section of the website for more details.

To book a Yoga Therapy session please get in touch to arrange your free phone call, you can then download and complete the intake form from the button below.
Once I've received your completed form we can set a date for the initial appointment and begin our work together.

“The time I spent with Chloe nourished me through a particularly challenging time. And even though it was just six weeks, the practices we developed together have stayed with me and continue to facilitate me today. She was an amazingly perceptive teacher who responded to what I was feeling with non-judgemental kindness, creativity and compassion. I felt looked after and held in mind, even between sessions, where Chloe was extremely generous in continuing to provide support. I am so grateful, and feel privileged to have received such considerate attention I hope we will work together again in the future.”
